Alouettes Duo Recognized

From the Montreal Alouettes, quarterback Davis Alexander and receiver Tyson Philpot also received weekly honours. Alexander was named the league’s second star of the week following the Alouettes’ 34-13 win against the Ottawa Redblacks.

In that game, Alexander completed 22 of 30 pass attempts, throwing for 420 yards and three majors, with zero interceptions. His efficiency rating for the game was 154.9. This marks Alexander’s fourth Player of the Week recognition this season, having previously been honoured in Week 2, Week 4, and Week 7. It was also his third game of the season and career with over 400 passing yards, and he matched a career-high with three touchdown passes, including efforts of six and 11 yards to Cole Spieker. He also had three completions of 30 yards or more.

Tyson Philpot was recognized for his receiving efforts in the same game against the Ottawa Redblacks. He recorded 184 receiving yards on nine receptions from 11 targets. Philpot became the fastest Canadian player to reach 1,000 receiving yards in a season, achieving this milestone in just eight games. This was his fifth game of the season and 10th of his career with over 100 receiving yards. He averaged 20.4 yards per reception, had two receptions of 30 yards or more, gained 81 yards after the catch, and secured two second-down conversions. This is Philpot’s fourth Player of the Week honour, having also been recognized in Week 2, Week 4, and Week 6.
